Back on the air, almost

Hey, guys...

As I know a lot of you have been waiting all week for an update (some of you have emailed me -- with, I imagine, dicks in hand -- to ask when I'm going to post the details of my visit to NYJacks last Monday), I wanted to take a few minutes as I sit here at an Internet terminal in the Brooklyn Public Library to make a quick post. I took a sabbatical last week to focus on my newly-energetic job search, as the unstructured life of a freelancer has, to put it mildly, lost some of its luster. Between working on my résumé and a sudden acute case of writer's block -- it happens even to the most imaginative of us -- I found myself starting to work on Brooklyn Jack posts but never finishing them. Then, over the weekend, my main hard drive crashed, which is why I've had to go to the library to log in. As soon as I'm done with my Web surfing here, I'm off to buy a new hard drive, so Inshallah my own computer will be up and running again by tonight.

So, it won't be too much longer before I'll be blogging again (fortunately, I save all my writing on the secondary hard drive, not the recently deceased C: drive); in the meantime, enjoy the archived stuff, have fun chatting each other up in the Brooklyn Jack Yahoo group, and keep checking back!
